Tokyotreat- a fun new subscription service!

Tokyotreat box

I don’t know about you but I love to get monthly subscription boxes. The way they work is you pay a monthly fee and they send you an assortment of whatever their company sells. Well I have found the perfect one for my family! It’s called Tokyotreat! They are delicious sweets and treats from Japan. And they literally get sent to you from Japan. So everything you get is in Japanese. But don’t worry! Their mini magazine that comes with each box is in English so you know exactly what you are getting.

Taste Testing

Tokyotreat Tacos Chips

The first thing we tried was the Taco flavored chips. They were very flavorful! Both kids loved these and wanted me to see if I could order more so they could take some in their lunch to school!

Tokyotreat String Candy

Next, we tried the String Candy. So the flavor in the magazine says Grape and Muscat flavor. I looked up the word Muscat and it’s another name for Grape so it’s Grape and Grape flavor. But if you look on the package it shows that if you twist the 2 candies together it turns into a Peach flavor. And you know what….it totally did!!! It was yum-o!

Tokyotreat Look and Bonus

Look and the bonus treat was next. Look was creamy and chocolatey and was gone in about 2 seconds flat. Luckily I took a couple before the kids wolfed the rest down! The bonus treat was a flakey cookie with a coconut and vanilla center. It was pretty good!

Tokyotreat Mr. Fun Bakery

Next, we decided to make the DIY ice cream kit. Since everything is in Japanese you have to follow the pictures so you know how to make the candy. Luckily we are big fans of Nerunerunerune which is another diy Japanese candy so we knew what to do. It was fun to make and even more fun to eat! Of course, my daughter loved it because it was pink…with sprinkles!

Tokyotreat Peko Poco Chocolate

We tried the Fujiya Peko and Poko chocolate pops next. The chocolate was smooth and creamy. These come from a classic Japanese company called Fujiya which is very well-known in Japan.

Tokyotreat chopsticks fortune

And one last thing! Hiding in the bottom of the box were these Good Luck Fortune Chopsticks! I didn’t even see them when I was doing my unboxing video! But my son pointed them out so I let him have them. They are bamboo, traditional Japanese chopsticks with a fortune attached. What a lucky kid!

Twix Bites – Big Flavor In A Small Bite + A Giveaway

This post is sponsored by #Twix Brand. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Twix Package

The other day I was at my local pharmacy waiting for my son’s prescription and came across this wonderful package! My son was sick and I was tired and I was craving something sweet. Twix unwrapped bites fit the bill. I had never had them nor did I even know they existed! I couldn’t wait to try them.

Twix open bag

When I got home I got my son set up on the couch with his medicine, his TV remote and his water and then I was off to regain my sanity. I went to the kitchen and immediately opened up the package and peeked inside. The smell coming from inside the bag was heavenly and there were so many tiny bite sized Twix. The bag was big enough to share so I had a handful and since it had a resealable top I could save the rest to share with my husband later that night.

Twix morsel

These little babies look just like their original size twins but teeny tiny. Crammed with crunchy cookie, smooth caramel and rich chocolate they are perfect if you just want a little taste of a Twix. I love how portable the bag is. You can take them to work with you or bring them in the car without having to worry about them spilling everywhere. So tell us….WHO would you share your #twixbites with?

I am hosting a giveaway on behalf of Twix where one lucky winner will receive the following:

  • $15 Fandango gift card
  • 2 sharable bags TWIX Bites
  • 1 larger resealable bag of TWIX Bites

Valentine Peeps!! They’re back!! Hooray!!!

Review of Valentines Peeps

One of my most favorite things in the whole wide world are back! Valentine Peeps people!! They’re here and they are awesome!!! This year they have several different delicious flavors to choose from.

Peep Flavors

We will start off with Strawberry Creme and Vanilla Creme. Strawberry flavor is my most favorite flavor in the world and these do not disappoint!  They are not too strong and as you bite into the fluffy pillow of yumminess you get the subtle hint of Strawberry. Not to overpowering at all. And if you are a lover of Vanilla flavor then you will love the Vanilla Creme. The decadent softness combined with the light vanilla flavor is fantastic!

And who doesn’t love chocolate mousse? These little Teddy Bears are lightly flavored with a hint of chocolate mouse which will satisfy your chocolate craving. Women love chocolate, so men…..don’t forget to include these delicious bites in with her gift!

Speaking of chocolate, what about the chocolate dipped strawberry creme flavored chicks? This one happens to be my favorite out of all the ones I tried. The fluffy lightly flavored chicks with just the bottoms dipped in chocolate. The perfect combination! And lets not forget the completely covered in chocolate Raspberry flavored hearts. Now these are the only ones that I feel are not really Peeps…I mean don’t get me wrong…they are fantastic! I could eat a dozen, (and I almost did!) but the consistency of the marshmallow inside is a little more dense then a regular peep. Even though this is different from a regular Peep it is still delicious!

Then we have the tried and true original Peep in a cute bright pink heart shape. For those Peep purists these are the ones to get!

Last but not least they have introduced a sugar-free Peep. These Peeps are the original flavor sweetened with Splenda. It makes for a delicious, healthier alternative to the traditional Valentine’s candy. So whatever your desire this Valentine’s day go treat yourself and get some Peeps! You deserve it!

Review: Peeps Christmas Collection

All products were graciously donated by Just Born Inc for this taste test. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

When I was asked if I wanted to do this assignment I jumped at the chance. I am what you call a Peep connoisseur. I love Peeps! Since I was a kid I have always loved a good Peep. I have joined the Fan Club, I have a personal ID and password when you go to the Peeps website ( and I have participated in Peep Jousting (Google it!). This assignment had my name written all over it!

I was asked to try their Christmas line. Now as a Peep Connoisseur I also consider myself a Peep Purist meaning I am dedicated to the original Peep Bunny and Chick. As I was given these new items to try I was skeptical about how it would turn out. I knew I would like the Snowman and Tree as they are the original formula but I was unsure about the rest. I decided to leave my favorite Tree and Snowman until the end and start with the unknown.

The first one I tried was the Candy Cane Flavored chicks dipped in chocolate. I opened the package and immediately smelled the peppermint aroma come wafting out of the bag. The marshmallow was super soft and just the bottom was dipped in chocolate. I took a bite and my whole mouth filled with a yummy candy cane flavor with a bit of chocolate. It was one of the most scrumptious things I have ever tried!

I then tried the Gingerbread men which are also Gingerbread flavored. Again I opened up the package and noticed the aroma of a gingerbread cookie tickling my nose. Once again the marshmallow was soft and as I bit into it the flavor of gingerbread was wonderful on my tongue! I know I had a lot more to try but I could not resist and I popped another one of these delicious men into my mouth!

My next sample was the Chocolate covered Marshmallow Tree. They come in 2 varieties: Milk Chocolate covered Mint and Dark Chocolate covered Mint. They come wrapped in a tin foil bag so you can’t see what the actual product looks like until you open it. When I opened the bag I noticed what looked to be a tree covered in chocolate. I took a bite and bit down through a layer of chocolate into a minty green marshmallow. This candy was very good however it was not very “Peepy”. Like I said before I am a Peep Purist and this candy, although very good, went against my Peep standards. Still something I would eat because it was delicious but not what I would classify as a Peep.

I then tried the Peppermint flavored Star Peeps. The minute you open the package you can smell the peppermint and of course the marshmallow was soft to bite into. The peppermint flavor burst into my mouth and my breath was candy cane fresh after I ate it! These not only were Peeps but breath fresheners as well! It’s a two-fer!!

Next were the Peeps on a stick. Their original Peeps chicks decked out in holiday colors loaded onto a stick. Perfect for eating on the go! This was also the one that my kids wanted to try because it looked fun. We all shared this scrumptious treat and we all loved it!

The final product was my beloved original Peeps. These were the Snowman and Christmas Tree in the original marshmallow flavor. Now because I am a Peep Connoisseur I have a specific way of eating these Peeps. I open the package (just a corner!) and let them sit out for a few days. This makes them not as soft on the outside but still soft in the middle. My favorite way to eat a Peep…..and they did not disappoint! They were fantastically perfect on the outside and still soft as a marshmallow on the inside!

All in all this assignment was one of my favorites! I really liked all the candy (even if one wasn’t so peep-like) and would highly recommend these to anyone looking to fill a stocking at Christmas. These Peeps are Gluten Free and will last a long time even if they are left out of the package.
