Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat At La Mirada Theater

Musical Theater is amazingly popular not just for adults, but also in the tween and teen communities. I think families in general enjoy musical theater because it allows for a wide range of emotions to be conveyed through song and dance. Theater can be a powerful way to create an immersive experience. Additionally, musicals often tell stories that are both entertaining and relatable, making them easy to enjoy. From the musical genius of Andrew Lloyd Webber (Phantom of the Opera, Evita, Jesus Christ Superstar) and lyricist Tim Rice (Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Aladdin) comes one of the most enduring shows of all time! Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is a reimagining of the biblical story of Joseph, his father Jacob, eleven brothers, and his coat of many colors. This sensational musical features songs which have gone on to become pop and musical theatre classics, including “Any Dream Will Do,” “Close Every Door To Me,” “There’s One More Angel In Heaven,” and “Go, Go, Go Joseph.” The multi award-winning show has been performed in over 80 countries worldwide and has become one of the world’s most beloved family musicals.

We recently attended press night of Joseph and the amazing Technicolor and we were blown away at the performance! There was so much positive energy in the room it felt like the entire theater was alive. It was full of bright, vibrant, uplifting, radiant feels! My favorite was taking pictures with the amazing and talented narrator Kelli Rabke.

We also got to meet Kurt Kemper who is incredibly tall as well as the director Gerry McIntyre.

Gerry has won widespread acclaim for his most recent choreographic credit: the Berkshire Theatre Group's production of Godspell – sold out, twice-extended, with rave reviews. He was also recently made Associate Artistic Director of The York Theatre.
