Why Curves Works And How My Results Motivated Me

This is a sponsored post. All thought and opinions are my own.

Working out to keep fit is a given here in Orange County. There are gyms on every corner and active wear is worn as clothing and almost as a symbol of productivity. Exercise has never come easy to me but as I get older I have noticed it has become more of a necessity and less of a hobby. My metabolism just isn’t what it used to be and results are harder to achieve.

This past month I had the opportunity to work out at a Curves facility for 1 month. I was eager to see if I could shed a few pounds but most importantly I wanted to get stronger. During my very first week I worked out 5 days in a row. I enjoyed the comradery and the owner Traci was absolutely wonderful. She cheered me on every step of the way and even called me if I missed too many days in a row. For the very first time, I was finally accountable for my actions when it came to working out.

What I loved the most about Curves was the machines were easy to use. I wasn’t the least bit intimidated and after 5 sessions I knew the circuit by heart and memorized a lot of the mat work. I enjoyed the repetition because I knew it and it wasn’t scary. (I have been known to bolt out of a yoga class or two before because the routine was so difficult for me).

Stretching is Key

After my 30 minute workout I was always encouraged to stretch and boy did it feel good! Not only does it restore flexibility to muscles that have been inactive and become stiff, it prevents your muscles from tightening up after your vigorous Curves workout. Stretching also relieves joint stiffness and improves your range of motion making everyday tasks easier and more enjoyable.

My Curves Results

At the end of one month I can honestly say that all of my back pain went away. I felt good and really enjoyed the easy resistance the machines gave me. I felt toned and flexible in ways that I had not felt before. Here are my results. While they aren’t significant they did move and I saw some improvement and that is enough for me. I lost 3 1/2  total inches, 2 lbs, and 2% of my body fat.

** Curves Fitness members on average lose 5 lbs. over a 20‐week period. I received promotional consideration.

Curves Cares

The Curves in Laguna Niguel is very supportive of Women’s Health. They have a nutritionist on-site, customized meal plans and as a matter of fact, Curves is participating in October’s National Breast Cancer Awareness with a walk through Laguna Niguel Regional Park. Feel free to join! It’s October 28th at 8am. Just look for the ladies wearing pink!

I would love to continue my curves journey and see if I can accomplish even more. In the meantime it has given me tools and the motivation I need to gain a healthier me!
