Disclosure

Do you have a child who loves technology, creating, and learning? Would you like to help them focus their interest in positive ways while learning new skills? Then, Code Gauchos may be just the place for you.

Code Gauchos is a new coding school that teaches computer programming languages in Lake Forest, CA.  Kids ages 5-18 have fun learning to code. They are currently offering summer camps where kids will learn how to build video games, create their own apps and build their own websites. They will learn game development using Scratch® and javascript. Kids will work individually and as a team to design, code and develop a game. Kids will also have the chance to develop and deploy an android app to a tablet or phone.

The mission of owners Jody and Tim Sandberg is to teach everyone to code. They believe that a basic understanding of software engineering provides a set of fundamental skills that are vital, both to the student’s future and the future of the global economy. It’s not just about STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math), but also about liberal arts: being able to think critically about problems is the first step to finding solutions.

Code Gauchos also offers weekly classes throughout the year. They have a great keyboarding class that teaches proper keyboarding techniques for children, all the while making a fun and exciting experience. Poor keyboarding habits are very hard to overcome when they have been practiced for years. This course will not only make coding easier, but help the student to get their school work done quicker. here are some of the other classes:

  • Keyboarding for Kids
  • Little Coders: Introduction to Coding
  • Little Coders: Interactive Stories and Games
  • Introduction to Scratch
