The Guardians are back and funnier than ever on May 5! Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is like watching your cousins tease and torment each other but then turn around and defend each other. I mean you’re family right? No one picks on family. We feel that part two of the outlandish adventures of the most mismatched band of characters is even better than the first. Writer-director James Gunn has managed to make each of these oddball comic book characters even more near and dear to our hearts. Part 2 gives you and interior look into each of their lives. Even with all the silliness, sarcasm and bickering banter, the Guardians can put a lump in your throat with the setback, risks and sacrifices.
Volume 2 bring brilliant colors, eye popping visual effects and of course the nostalgic soundtrack into a 3D visual adventure you and your kids are sure to love (Pg-13). Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 features talking animals, a gold painted perfect race, blue skinned “ravengers”, humans and of course Groot. Each one is searching for their own secret hearts desire. It’s about a son yearning for a dad, complicated sisterhood, wise-cracking raccoon who just wants to belong and outlaws looking for redemption. Each twist and turn of the movie bring you deeper into the lives of Star-lord (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Rocket (Bradley Cooper), Drax (Dave Bautista), Yondu (Michael Rooker) and Groot (Vin Diesel). It is jam backed with new characters, many celebrity cameos, cynical humor, self mocking and witty banter but it still manages to deliver an emotionally engaging and consistent story line. The movie had me laughing out loud the whole-time. (Sorry to the man next to me as, I don’t have a quite laugh.) It was cool, snarky, warm and fuzzy at the same time. My favorite is baby Groot. He is so adorable. In my opinion he steals the show.
What you should know:
DO NOT LEAVE until you watch every single credit roll
Prepare to laugh, a lot
Not suitable for younger children
I am Groot
There is violence, some foul language and loud noises
You might want to watch part one before seeing Vol 2, to catch the inside jokes
