Foster Farms DORI™ Makes Dinner Time Easy
Planning meals for my family during the week has always been a difficult task for me. I purchase groceries on a whim and rarely plan out what we will be eating the night before. I’m sure I could save a lot of money if I had some sort of a weekly meal plan, or a budget planned out in advance. However, with 3 kids on opposite schedules and a husband who travels, my time is quite limited. This all changed for me this week when I met Foster Farms DORI™ at my local grocery store. Foster Farms DORI™ is a new interactive QR code on all packages of Foster Farms fresh chicken in California, Oregon and Washington. She can help you save with exclusive coupons and she can also help you come up with a quick dinner recipe. There are literally hundreds of original recipes using Foster Farms chicken. Foster Farms is one of the first fresh poultry/meat companies with an on-pack QR code.
Here is how it works: First, open your camera on your phone. Hover over the QR code next to the picture of DORI™ and she will automatically populate a website with deals, recipes, info, sustainability, products, food festival fun and information about Foster Farms Community. So if you know you want to make a chicken dish for dinner, you can search DORI™ for one right then and there. You won’t forget any ingredients because they are all listed in the recipe and you are in the store! DORI™ even shows you a map of Foster Farms’ local California and Pacific Northwest chicken ranches, and simplifies labeling terms.
Plus the New iOS 11 and Android updates make scanning savings easier than ever. No app download is required, simply open your camera on your iPhone or Android device to scan and save.

Foster Farms Healthy Chicken Piccata
On a recent shopping trip I found a Chicken Piccata recipe on Foster Farms DORI™ that I wanted to try out. I purchased the Simply Raised, no antibiotics chicken breasts by Foster Farms and created a delicious meal that my entire family loved!
- 2 8 oz Foster Farms Thin Sliced Chicken Breast Fillets
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1/2 cup reduced sodium chicken broth
- 1 medium lemon thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons capers
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley
Place each chicken breast portion between two pieces of plastic wrap. Using the flat side of a meat mallet, pound chicken lightly until about 1/4 inch thick. Remove plastic wrap. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
In a large skillet, melt butter over medium-high heat. Add chicken, cook 6-8 minutes or until browned and no longer pink in the center. turning once halfway through cooking. Remove chicken from pan; set aside.
Add garlic to the hot pan; cook for 30 seconds to 1 minute or until lightly browned. Add broth, scraping up any brown bits from the bottom of the pan. Bring to a boil. Add lemon slices and capers. Cover, reduce heat to low. Cook 4-5 minutes or until lemon slices are softened and releasing their juice. Return chicken to pan; heat through.
To serve, spoon caper mixture over chicken. Sprinkle with fresh parsley.
