The Count’s Halloween Spooktacular At Sesame Place

Sesame Place® San Diego, the only theme park on the West Coast-based entirely on the award-winning show Sesame Street®, will launch its ALL-NEW Halloween event, The Count’s Halloween Spooktacular, on Saturday, September 17. The family-focused event will run every Saturday and Sunday through Sunday, October 30.

For the first time ever, the park will transform into a family-friendly Halloween haven for guests to celebrate silly, not-too-spooky fun alongside the daily, fun offerings that theme park guests enjoy year-round including exciting rides and select splashy water attractions.
The Count’s Halloween Spooktacular highlights include:

Family-Friendly Fun

The ALL-NEW Countdown to Halloween show at the Sesame Street Theater is a brand-new performance where Count von Count learns the importance of friendship and how much he is admired by all.

At the interactive Furry Friends Halloween Dance Party, guests can dance, sing, and monster mash along to their favorite Halloween tunes with furry friends.

The Sesame Street Halloween Parade features eight fantastic floats all decked out for the season with music and dancing that will have everyone joining in the fun. The parade features exciting performances about Halloween fun including trick-or-treating, dressing in costume and doing the “Jack-O-Lantern Jump”! The whole family will experience an energetic neighborhood Halloween block party with all of their favorite friends.

Trick or Treat Stations will be scattered throughout the park for guests to gather tasty Halloween treats with a mix of salty and sweet options from Ferrero, Hippeas, Haribo, Smarties, and Nassau. Reusable tote bags will be available for purchase in Mr. Hooper’s Store, Sesame Souvenirs, and select merchandise carts.

Guests can participate in a fun Spot-The-Ghost Scavenger Hunt by purchasing a Spot-The-Ghost Scavenger Hunt Map in the park. With the purchased map, guests can locate not-so-spooky ghosts throughout the park. Those that complete the scavenger hunt will receive a Halloween prize!

There are one-of-a-kind Sesame Street Character Photo Opportunities for guest with their favorite furry friends who are dressed in their Halloween best.

Rides and Slides

Sesame Place has rides that everyone can enjoy together! From a child’s first roller coaster ride to a colorful carousel to an imaginary trip to outer space in an Elmo-themed rocket ship, the rides at Sesame Place are designed with the whole family in mind.

During the fall season, guests can dip in the water and enjoy time in the lazy river, jump up and down at the family-friendly wave pool, and the youngest can enjoy slippery slides made for their size. On chillier days, Big Bird’s Beach Wave Pool and Big Bird’s Rambling River water attractions are heated.

*Major water slides are seasonal and will not be operating.

Halloween Costume Policy

All guests are welcome to dress up in Halloween costumes. Guests who are ages 13 and older may not wear full face coverings, costume masks or hoods, and all costumes are subject to the normal dress code for the park. In addition, face painting is not permitted on any guests unless it is done by park artists.
